There is a similar bridge in Melbourne, Australia that is notorious for these types of incidents. Was working for an A/V company at the time and one of our regular drivers forgot about it and peeled half the truck open 😱 I had to fill in a LOT of paperwork for that one 😱

If only there was some way of knowing that trucks won't clear the bridge. Perhaps a sign that lights up telling you the truck won't clear.

Ever since the road department fixed the funky road surface, the crashes have been more consistent. No-one gets lucky any more.

It looks to me like if they took that yellow pillar down he would have no problem clearing the overpass. It looks like the pillar starts from the bottom of the overpass so however thick it is, if it was removed that truck would have had cleared it. They need to raise the tracks about 5 inches higher then the trucks would have no problem getting through.

Guess truckers can't read the sign or not pay attention when I was driving I always was careful about bridges
